The universe owes you nothing.
It has already given you everything after all.
It was here long before you, and it will go on long after you.
The only way it will remember you is if you do something worthy of remembrance.

I loved it and I'm so happy! There was so much hype around this and I was afraid I'd be disappointed but I'm sooo glad I wasn't!
And the whole files thing was awesome as far as I'm concerned.
Definitely a new favourite.

And she sprinted away, up the stairs.

"What does she understand?" said Harry distractedly.

"Loads more than I do," said Ron, shaking his head.

"But why's she got to go to the library?"

"Because that's what Hermione does," said Ron, shrugging. "When in doubt, go to the library."

I wouldn't want to live forever. What would be the point in that? Aren't you hungry for something? Don't you have dreams?
What weight and significance do your dreams have if they don't have a deadline? If you don't have to chase them today because you can do it tomorrow, in a week, a year, or in a hundred years' time?

Was he an asshole? Sure, but we knew that already. And sure there were flaws but I enjoyed reading this so I don't caaaare.

His friend catcalls me and asks how much.
"Five thousand," I yell back with a mouth still half full of food. "To let me watch while you suck a bag of dicks."

They exchange a dopey look and hurl some insults my way. I flip them the bird before stuffing the last of the hot dog into my mouth and licking my fingers.
Boys.
Silly little playthings.

"I don't think they do, Fitz," Crow argues. "They don't stay like that."

"Maybe you could tape them," Alexei offers.

I clear my throat from the door, and all three of them look at me like deer in the headlights. Ronan's cheeks flush, and so do Lachlan's. I just caught the boss and the underboss of the Irish mob blushing over a baby.

The crow symbolizes many things in different cultures. The interpretations are vast and far reaching. But when the magic and lore have been stripped away, all that's left is reality.
For me, only one interpretation comes to mind. At its most basic, and especially to me, the crow symbolizes death.

I nearly DNF at least 3 times..
And I almost never do that.
I skimmed though. A lot.
I just can't enjoy a book if I don't like the characters and I really really didn't like Elli. Plus it was such a long book and got really boring at times.
Normally I wouldn't read the other books but I heard really good things about the series so I think I'll give the next couple books a chance and see what happens.

You know what I think? I think it's human nature to blame yourself. When things fuck up in life, you always want to find a reason for it. There has to be a reason, right? Bad things don't just happen to good people.
So we sit around and try to make sense of it all, and the only sense we can make is that we probably deserved it, so we make up these ideas in our heads.

We don't look back. It helps no one and nothing to look back.

See I have this feeling that if I reread this series I won't like it...

I loved Chaol so much when I started this series so I was obviously going to give his book a chance, even though he let me down so hard in some of the previous books.
It wasn't bad but it got really boring at times. Or maybe I'm expecting too much at this point. And I think I wanted this book to be shorter.. I feel it could be 200 less pages and we still wouldn't have missed something from the story.

Aaaaanyway.. Maybe I'm just grumpy because my queen Manon wasn't in it, who knows..

"He's just this guy here who went out of his way to completely screw me on day one."

"How did he screw you?"

"In the kitchen," I say. Then immediately. "DON'T. DO NOT."

That was a cute book that actually made cooking seem fun (see, mom, that was the way to go) and made me crave macarons BUT our main girl Carter was such an annoying character. She'd get mad over..well..pretty much anything and she just acted like a brat I just couldn't like.

I liked Riya and most of the other characters even though the book was a bit short to really get to know them. And of course my adorable baby Reid. A cute Japanese dude cooking for you? Yes please!

Overall I enjoyed it even though I'm not much of a cooking person and I wanted to smack Carter half the time. If you're looking for an quick, fluffy, fun read give this book a chance. And make sure you have snacks.

There has always been fear. There will always be fear. It's up to us to stand tall, even when the fear demands we bow to it.

I reeeeeally enjoyed this!

It was a tiny bit slow at times and I didn't really care for Thomas (he was kinda selfish and whiny) but I loved the rest of the characters and the story was awesome. The historical fantasy aspect was great and I loved the masks, the colour powers and the fact that Guy Fawkes and the plotters were actually in the book.

Also,
EMMA IS MY QUEEN! I just loved this girl she was amazing!

A lovely debut novel by Lindsay Champion. I loved her writing and even though there were parts in the story I'm not usually a fan of, I still enjoyed the book much more than I expected to.
It was sweet, fast paced and filled with music and I'm one of those who actually liked how it all ended.
